VFW Responds to Eastern Washington Wildfires â— VFW Posts across eastern and central Washington are supporting
displaced residents, veterans, families and local emergency-response efforts.
â— Spokane:
VFW Post 51 has opened its grounds to hundreds of people displaced
by the wildfires.
â— Post 51 is working with the VFW Department of Washington to serve
up to 600 meals per day to those affected.
â— Spokane-area VFW members are helping provide meals and support
for evacuees at the Spokane Interstate Fairgrounds.
â— Deer Park Post 3067:
providing meals, supplies, medical equipment and limited RV parking.
â— VFW Posts are providing clothing, hygiene supplies, pet supplies,
medical equipment and other necessities to displaced families.
â— Affected communities include:
Spokane, Airway Heights, Deer Park, Yakima, Wenatchee and Leavenworth.
â— Veterans and families affected by the wildfires should contact
their local VFW Post or the VFW Department of Washington for assistance.
